Support Group

COUNSELING SERVICES

As a Texas Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, I specialize in providing individual, group, and family counseling for adolescents and young adults in the areas of substance abuse and addiction and related at-risk behaviors.

​

I utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, along with mindfulness and restorative practices techniques to facilitate a client-centered approach to positive changes in thoughts and behaviors.

In-home $150 per hour individual / $190 per hour family

Virtual $135 per hour individual / $175 per hour family

TEENS & TWEENS

These sessions are developed teens and tweens in mind.  No matter the topic, the goal is to help teens and tweens fill their "coping skills playbook" with life strategies to increase their likelihood of making healthy decisions, forming positive peer groups, and becoming healthy adults who positively contribute to their communities.

These opportunities can be in a small group (5-10 people) or community workshop format.  This may be one single event or a multi-session support group that meets weekly or monthly.

  • Topics​ (this is not an exhaustive list)

    • ​Reconnecting Youth​. An  evidenced-based prevention program for adolescents who are at-risk for dropping out of school or have previously dropped out of school and returned.  This is a 12-session course that is designed to build student life skills in hopes of them having improvement in school school-smart skills, improvement in mood management, and improvement in drug-use control.

    • Substance Use Prevention

    • Adverse Childhood Experiences

    • Social Emotional Learning

    • Adulting 101

PARENTING SUPPORT

Parenting Support is designed to help parents, guardians, and caregivers build their community support systems by providing an avenue for individuals to come together to share experiences and discuss topics related to parenting through the many stages of our lives and our children's lives.  These opportunities can be in a small group (5-10 people) or community workshop format.  This may be one single event or a multi-session support group that meets weekly or monthly.

  • Topics​ (this is not an exhaustive list)

    • ​Love and Logic TM Parental support utilizing skills from Parenting with Love & Logic TM and Love & Logic: Adults Supporting Youths with Challenging Pasts TM.

    • Building Strong Towers. Support designed to help parents, guardians, and caregivers understand what Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are, how they affect us and our children, and how to build resiliency within ourselves while modeling and gifting it to our children.

    • ​I Love You Still. Support for those of us who care for and love children, teens, and young adults who show a pattern of behaviors that create negative consequences for themselves and loved ones in school, at home, and within the community.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT / COMMUNITY WORKSHOP

Support for those who work with children, adolescents, and young adults who display copings skills that tend to result in negative consequences at school, home, and within their community.  These workshops are designed to be trauma-informed and culturally proficient, with an understanding of the importance of having sometimes difficult but always growth-building conversations in order to better help the populations we serve.  Customized workshops are available upon request.

SMALL GROUP SERVICES

Small group coaching and consulting similar to individual services, with the added benefit of group support and community building. Groups size: 5 - 10 people

YOUNG ADULTS

These sessions are â€‹designed to help young adults navigate through the transition from childhood to adulthood.  The workshops allow young adults to build soft skills, relationship skills, employment skills, and coping skills as they begin to venture out into full adulthood.

These opportunities can be in a small group (5-10 people) or community workshop format.  This may be one single event or a multi-session support group that meets weekly or monthly.
