Embracing Change
Updated: Mar 25, 2020
We've all heard it before, "the only thing constant in life is change," and this is exactly what I am experiencing at this stage of my life. Over the past couple of years I have been in the process of refinement. I experienced the loss of loved ones, learned to lean on my support system without embarrassment, and just plain old began loving myself inside and out. And tomorrow I will have to encounter more change.
What I've Learned So Far
A few lessons I've learned from my latest round of changes:
1. Change forces me to make a decision. I can decide to go with the change, attempt to stay the same, or come up with something totally new.
2. Change allows me to evaluate myself. What did I learn from the previous situation? What am I learning from the new situation? What was my part in bringing this change about? How can I use this to make myself a better person?
3. Change motivates me. Whether the change is positive or negative, change motivates me to continue towards my goals, create additional goals, or re-evaluate and adjust my goals.
Closing Thought
Take the journey of change, with all of its twists, turns, and blind spots, because in the end, you may just discover a better, stronger you.
